At the northern end of Avinguda Diagonal, you will find the residential district of Diagonal Mar, located right on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. This district is one of the newest additions to Barcelona, having been opened in 1990 and further developed for the 2004 Universal Forum of Cultures. Here you will find many skyscrapers, luxury apartments and parks offering a green haven in the city centre.... 

The most emblematic building in Diagonal Mar is the Fòrum, a unique, triangular structure which now houses the Barcelona Museum of Natural Science, also known as the 'Blue Museum' due to the unusual colour of the building. The Forum esplanade, or Parc del Fòrum, is home to a number of music festivals, events and exhibitions throughout the year, including the popular Primavera Sound Festival.

While the area is considered to be one of the most modern parts of Barcelona, it still retains a traditional Spanish feel, with local restaurants and bars serving a variety of cuisine.
